Week 10 – How To Improve Life In Lockdown: 7 Free Things To Do

  1. Exercise

Everyone knows how important it is, however some people struggle to exercise consistently. Realistically, thirty minutes of exercise, a couple times a week, cannot combat the physical effects of a sedentary work or home life.

It is important to note that exercise celebrates what your body can do and everyone taking part should not focus on what you can’t yet do.

Regular physical activity helps maintain a healthy body weight, makes you feel happier and improves your sleep – awesome!

  1. Spend some time in nature

Breathe in that fresh air and walk around for a while. Being in nature reduces stress, improves your memory and makes you more creative.

  1. Express gratitude

Practicing gratitude puts everything around you into perspective. It will make you happier, improve your relationships and bring awareness to the present moment.

  1. Spend time with loved ones

Many people believe social engagement and good relationships are important for a long and happy life. Doing something kind for your friends and family will improve your relationships and improve your mood.

  1. Challenge yourself

Is there a skill you want to master or a hobby you want to try? There is no better time to start than right now. Focus on improving your skills at a 0-10, 10-20, pace rather than 0-100 to increase your chances of success.

  1. Read

We never finish learning, reading a new book can inspire new ideas and teach you something new. Reading a fiction book improves imagination and reduces stress.

  1. Meditate

Meditation can take its form in several activities e.g. painting, exercise, and breathing. It can increase happiness, attention span and meaning in life while reducing anger, depression, anxiety and fatigue.

Best of luck,
